Approximately 7 thousand people fly from and to Larnaca Airport since its re-operation

Approximately seven thousand people flew from and to Larnaca International Airport on 85 flights during the first week after it operated again, as flights from and to Cyprus were prohibited since March 21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to information CNA has from Hermes Airports since June 9 that the airport re-operated until June 15 a total of 85 flights arrived to Cyprus and left the island, carrying approximately 7 thousand people.
 
More specifically 42 flights carried 2,950 passengers to Cyprus while 4,039 people left the island on 43 flights.
 
As regards the repatriation a total of 19 flights carrying 1,266 people arrived to Cyprus and left the island. Nine flights arrived to Larnaca airport carrying 618 persons while 10 flights left with 608 persons aboard.  
 
People were repatriated from Egypt, Qatar, Romania, South Africa, Ukraine and the UK.
 
Repatriation flights have been conducted by Blue Air, Carpat air, Cyprus Airways, Egypt Air, Sky Up and Wizz Air UK.
 
During the period from June 9 to June 15 passenger flights were conducted from and to Larnaca airport from Wizz Air, Aegean, Cyprus Airways, Bulgaria Air and Austrian Airlines.
