Cyprus Police reported 131 individuals and 2 premises` owners in the last 24 hours, over violations of measures aiming to curb the spread of COVID-19.
A police spokesperson told CNA that they carried out a total of 10,740 checks throughout Cyprus in the last 24 hours.
In Nicosia district, the Police carried out 2,903 checks reporting 32 individuals, in Limassol district 1,826 checks reporting 49 individuals and one premises’ owner and in Larnaca 19 individuals were reported and one premises owner following 1,227 checks.
In Pafos out of 1,198 checks carried out 9 individuals were reported, in Famagusta after 1,409 checks 19 individuals were reported and in Morphou after 1,024 checks no fines were issued.
Furthermore, the Police Traffic Department carried out 981 checks, reporting 2 individuals, while one fine was issued following 135 checks, carried out by the Police’s Rapid Response Unit.
Port and Marine Police carried out 37 checks without finding any violations.
