Retail Trade up 7.2% in value and 6.3% in volume in November

The Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade for November 2024 increased by 7.2% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, according to data published by the Statistical Service on Thursday. For the same month, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade increased by 6.3% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

In value, the largest increase was recorded in cultural and recreation goods (books, stationery, sports equipment, toys) and clothing and footwear, with a 12.3% rise, and in food, beverages or tobacco in supermarkets (11,7%).

The largest drop in value in November was recorded in retail sale not in stores (5.1%).

In volume, the largest increase was recorded in clothing and footwear (14.1%) and in cultural and recreation goods (books, stationery, sports equipment, toys) with a rise of 10.2%.

For the period January-November 2024, the Value Index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 5.4% and the Volume Index an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period of 2023.
