Total deposits reached €54.8 billion in November, according to statistics published by the Central Bank of Cyprus on Thursday, which are included in the December 2024 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics. In the same month, total loans reached €24.9 billion.
According to the data, total deposits in November 2024 recorded a net increase of €91.6 million, compared with a net increase of €377.6 million in October 2024. The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 5.4%, remaining unchanged compared with October 2024.
Deposits of Cyprus residents exhibited an increase of €155.9 million. More analytically, households’ deposits increased by €71.7 million, while deposits of non-financial corporations recorded a decrease of €11.7 million. Deposits of the remaining domestic sectors exhibited a total increase of €95.9 million.
Total loans in November 2024 recorded a net decrease of €1.8 million, compared with a net decrease of €213 million in October 2024. The annual growth rate of total loans stood at 1.9%, compared with 2% in October 2024.
Loans to Cyprus residents exhibited a decrease of €9.5 million. More analytically, loans to households increased by €6.5 million, while loans to non-financial corporations recorded a decrease of €47.3 million. Loans to the remaining domestic sectors exhibited a total increase of €31.3 million.
