Greece gas station fraud costs €120 Million

A staggering increase in gas stations in Greece fixing the pumps to deliver less fuel than customers pay for is also defrauding the state, a National Technical University of Athens investigation finding widespread cheating.

The problem has become so severe that stations that don’t scam customers are going out of business while the fraudsters are prospering, despite new measures aimed at combating the phenomenon, no report how often stations are checked.
