One more big development project has stuck to objections. On Friday, one day before the expiry of the submission of objections against the decision of the Tenders Council to choose Cybarco/Iacovou, Atlas Pantou Co Ltd, which failed to undertake the project, raised an objection against the decision.
The cost of the project has been estimated at €32.4 million and it is the largest of the road works this year. It concerns the expansion of the Nicosia-Limassol highway to six lanes (off Alampra).
After the latest development, the Tenders’ Revisionary Committee must issue a decision so as to stop the signing of the contract with the successful bidder. Then, it will examine the objection and will decide whether it was justified or not.
This procedure usually takes one to three months.
For the second biggest project, the widening of the road of GSP interchange, which has been undertaken by Miltiades Neophytou, no objections have been raised and the procedure with the signing of the contract will take place normally.
The cost of the project has been calculated at €21.5 million.
