Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis said that, despite challenges, 2024 gave good results in tourism and expressed his satisfaction that those involved in the tourism industry are overwhelmingly satisfied with the financial results. He also said that the destination of Paphos city and district "is now heading towards year-round tourism."

Koumis was speaking at the presentation of the final results of the campaign to promote the Paphos destination in 2024, which took place on Friday evening in Paphos.

As the Deputy Minister said, the choice to invest in existing markets was made very consciously, as "our own analysis showed that by investing in existing markets we can get much faster and better results than dedicating resources to new markets". However, he mentioned that they did not ignore new markets.

Asked about the number of hotels that remain open, Koumis said that according to the Ministry's records across Cyprus there are 104 hotel units open.
