According to CYSTAT data released on Friday, 87.5% of the tourists in April 2006 selected Cyprus for vacation.
Specifically, 6.3% of the tourists visited friends and relatives and 6.1% visited the island for professional reasons.
Of them, 52.8% stayed in star hotels, 16.6% in organized apartments-tourist villages, 12.3% in friends and relatives and 6.6% in self-owned houses.
According to the Statistics’ Service, 38.6% of the tourists stayed in Paphos, 17.1% in Limassol, 12.9% in Ayia Napa, 10.7% in Paralimni, 9.4% in Larnaca and 5.3% in Nicosia.
