Mr. Andreas Vgenopoulos stated on Thursday that he waives privacy conferred by law and requested the publication of all information relating to his relationship with Laiki Bank immediately:
In a written statement, he said:
“I have been informed by reports in the Cypriot Press that it was requested (finally) by the Institutions Committee official information about what fees or other benefits I had during my presence in the administration of Laiki Bank, how many shares I bought and at what value, when I sold them and at what value, whether I had any loans from the bank and with what rate, and what investment Laiki Bank made in properties or acquisition of businesses at what prices and what where the third-party fees.
“As to the information requested by the Committee and has to do with me, I officially declare that I waive the protection of 'personal data' and I ask the administration of Laiki Bank to immediately provide information not only to the Committee but also to the public.
I would like the President of the Republic, the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank to ensure that my request is accepted immediately without delays.
For about 18 months, many of my rights as an EU citizen have been brutally circumvented and I hope that my right for the release of personal data, which is the only serious response to slander and defamation that I have suffered, is respected”.
