According to CYSTAT data released on Thursday, the Cypriots’ trips in Greece in March 2006 recorded a drop of 10.1% to 24,080 against 26,788 in the corresponding month of 2005.
Trips to Syria and Egypt also dropped by 43.7% and 33.8% respectively.
On the other hand, trips to Lebanon, UK, Russia and Israel showed an increase of 32.4%, 3.7%, 2.7% and 1.5% respectively.
Total Cypriots’ trips in 2006 fell 1.9% to 63,280 against 64,473 in March 2005.
The figures have showed that 63.5% traveled for leisure, 26.3% for professional purposes, 7.5% for studies and 2.7% for other reasons. 53% of the travelers were women and 47% men.
