The air-traffic controllers’ strikes that hit the island’s airports might be lifted.
Communications and Works Minister, Efthimios Flourentzou told StockWatch that he invited their leaders to engage in deliberations for the settlement of the dispute without arbitration given that they will lift strikes and he is waiting for their answer.
“If the answer is positive and they lift strikes, we will not resort to arbitration. We will engage in deliberations on the issue”, he noted.
Representatives of the air-traffic controllers’ leaders avoided making statements and stressed that their announcement will be out today.
The air-traffic controllers went on a 2-hour strike on Wednesday, from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm after their 4-hour strike a week earlier.
