British reservations for holidays in Cyprus remained particularly low in July 2004. According to A.C. Nielsen data released on Wednesday, Cyprus sold 29% less tourist packages compared to the corresponding month of 2003, while the total tourist packages booked by the British consumers dropped by 9%.
For January – July 2004, the total reserved tourist packages by British tourists declined by 15% compared to the corresponding period of 2003, while market recorded a drop of 8% compared to the corresponding period of 2003.
On the other hand, reservations for Malta, Turkey and Egypt in January – July 2004 showed an increase of 3%, 9% and 166% respectively compared to the corresponding period of 2003.
Reservations for Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy dropped 19%, 19%, 16% and 1% respectively.
