The end of the short war in Iraq and the tourist arrivals for the Catholic Easter have minimized losses in tourist arrivals to -5.9% for April compared to the corresponding month of 2002, although they favourably compare to the losses in March that reached 33.9 %.

According to CYSTAT data, tourist arrivals for April reached 169.891 against 180.481 in April 2002, while arrivals for January-April 2003 dropped 10.4% to 399.027 compared to 445.123 in the corresponding period of 2002.

Similarly, revenues for April 2003 are expected to recover. It is noted that in March 2003 revenues from tourism amounted to CYP 37,382,930 (-36.01% compared to April 2002).

Tourist arrivals for 2002 reached 2.418.236 against 2,696.728 in 2001.
