The relations between Cyprus and Greece in the sector of tourism are excellent, CTO Chairman, Fotis Fotiou stated on Monday.
Speaking at the reception of the Greek Minister of Tourist Development, Fani Palli-Petralia, Mr. Fotiou expressed the hope that that through a close cooperation, both countries will be benefited.
“We had several talks in the past on the joint tourist packages, such as religious and cultural tourism and cruises, as well as the joint effort for the attraction of tourists from China, Japan and India”, he added.
On the other hand, Mr. Petralia emphasized that Greece and Cyprus have strong bonds and common targets in the competitive EU environment.
“Tourism is a comparable advantage for both countries”, she said.
“My visit in Cyprus will be exceptionally constructive and I am sure that the sector of tourism will have significant results in the future”, she added.
Responding to the relevant question, Mr. Petralia said that the latest Aegean developments are not expected to affect negatively tourism in Greece and Cyprus, stressing “the Greek side handled the situation brilliantly”.
Today, Mrs. Petralia will visit Paphos and tomorrow will attend the PASYXE meeting.
