Total sales of petroleum products up by 5.4% in June

Total sales of petroleum products in June 2023 amounted to 132,828 tonnes, recording an increase of 5.4% compared to June 2022, according to data published by the Statistical Service on Thursday.

A rise was observed in the provisions of aviation kerosene, up by 8.6%, as well as in the sales of heavy fuel oil (66.4%), asphalt (50.3%), road diesel (12.2%), liquefied petroleum gases (9.8%), heating gasoil (9.1%) and motor gasoline (7.6%).

On the contrary, a drop was observed in the provisions of marine gasoil, down by 27.3%, as well as in the sales of kerosene and light fuel oil, down 49.5% and 3.2% respectively.

As far as the sales from filling stations are specifically concerned, these have registered an increase of 7.8% to 59,298 tonnes, compared to June 2022.

Compared to the end of May 2023, the total stocks of petroleum products at the end of June 2023 fell by 14%.

Total sales of petroleum products in June 2023 compared to the previous month recorded an increase of 8.4%. Indicatively, the provisions of aviation kerosene rose by 13.3%, so did the sales of road diesel (7.9%) and motor gasoline (5.1%).

During the period January – June 2023, the total sales of petroleum products dropped by 2.2% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
