The average tourist that visits Cyprus is a middle-aged British who enjoys his holidays either in Paphos or in free Famagusta. According to CYSTAT data released on Wednesday, most tourists that visit Cyprus prefer the organized trips and it is likely that they will return to the island.

The first tourist that you will probably is British. According to CYSTAT, three of five tourists that visit the island are from Britain.

The average tourist has visited the island more than once: Two of five tourists are repeaters. In July, 44% of them has visited Cyprus at least two times. This rate was even higher in January – June 2004 (62% in January).

Most visitors reside in Paphos and free Famagusta. Paphos attracts 30% of tourists, Paralimni and Ayia Napa 42%, Limassol 14%, Larnaca 9% and Nicosia 2%.

Most tourists from March onwards preferred organized trips. On the other hand, visitors in January and February had a preference on non organized trips.
