Cyprus’ interest in accepting applications for the licensing of hydrocarbon search and production in plots 12 and 13 of the Cypriot EEZ, in the sidelines of the second round of licensing, was published in the EU Gazette on Saturday.
Applications may be submitted within 90 days from the date of publication.
The Republic of Cyprus would like to inform all interested parties that the licensing criteria are the following:
1. The technical and economic capabilities of the applicants,
2. The ways that the applicant intends to execute the activities
3. The financial reward offered by the applicant in order to secure the license and,
4. Any lack of efficiency and responsibility shown by the applicant under a previous license or authorization of any kind, anywhere in the world.
If - following the evaluation – two or more applications are of equal value, the Republic will take into account the applicants’ proposals on the protection of public order, public health, road safety, environmental protection, protection of biological resources and national treasures possessing artistic, historic or archaeological value, the safety of installations and workers and planned management of hydrocarbon resources.
