The Cabinet approved on Thursday a proposal to repeal the existing decrees on COVID-19, following a proposal by Health Minister Michael Damianos.
According to an official announcement, measures which are abolished with the relevant decree relate to the use of protective masks in nursing homes, closed care/hospitality structures for the elderly and vulnerable groups and in the inpatient and outpatient areas of public and private hospitals.
At the same time, the obligation and individual responsibility of each person to comply with the Regulations of the COVID-19 Orders is repealed.
Also, the responsibility for compliance with Regulations provided for in the decrees for owners and/or directors and/or managers and/or administrators who have under their control a business and/or establishment and/or any other premises where economic activity is carried out in relation to goods or services, is abolished.
Furthermore, the obligation of owners and/or directors and/or managers and/or administrators of nursing homes, closed 24-hour care facilities for persons with disabilities, facilities and hostels for vulnerable groups to comply with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare for carrying out laboratory tests (PCR) and/or rapid antigen detection tests for COVID-19 for the staff and residents of the above-mentioned facilities is abolished.
Finally, the limit for maximum charge for the laboratory PCR test, rapid antigen detection test, self-diagnostic test per package of 5 tests and per piece is abolished.
