Taxed Greeks rank just 16th for disposable income in European Union

Beleaguered Greeks struggling with high supermarket prices are facing a double whammy of low salaries and income taxes as high as 45 percent and find themselves 16th Greece in the European Union for disposable income.

That’s among 27 countries, the Finance Ministry reporting how little many households have left to spend after being taxed while corporations – and more being wooed – pay only 22 percent by comparison.
