While the government has had to pour in billions in subsidies to pay up to 90 percent of household electricity bills that soared in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAAEY) said it will add smart meters to let consumers know when prices change.
The agency said in order to protect consumers from high costs that it will provide timely notifications about the fluctuations in electricity prices with users having already been advised to use high-consumption devices in off-peak periods, including late at night.
