Strong criticisms against Kasinis

The statements of Energy Manager, Solon Kasinis, that there are margins for further price cuts on fuel prices aroused strong feelings to the oil companies.

Petrolina Manager, Akis Lefkaritis told the CyBC that the companies are not bothered by the inspections but by the impression that they are not reliable.

“Mr. Kasinis refers to certain numbers but the difference is the period of time that the loads arrive. If I don’t buy the cheapest load I can’t sell cheaper. We are certainly bothered by the publication of numbers based on theoretical data. The companies’ reliability cannot be hit so long as there is no problem”, Mr. Lefkaritis said.

During an on-air dispute between Mr. Kasinis and Hellenic Petroleum Managing Director, Akis Pigasiou, the latter rejected allegations that his company sent a letter against Mr. Kasinis’ actions to the Minister of Commerce.

“Our company has not sent letters to the Ministry and does not threat anyone. The difference since May is one cent only because we have granted a 0.5 cents commission to the gas station owners”, Mr. Pigasiou stressed and urged Mr. Kasinis to visit his company and have a look at the stocks and prices.
