The bad weather conditions in Western Europe, especially the United Kingdom, forced certain airports in England and Scotland to close, cancelling eight flights to and from the Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
In his statements, Airport Spokesman, Adamos Aspris said that “due to the bad weather conditions in the UK, the Gatwick International Airport of London and the International Airport of Edinburgh have suspended their operation temporarily”.
“As a result, a number of flights to and from the UK airports have been affected. Overall, eight flights have been cancelled, of which four are departures and four arrivals. Specifically, three departures and three arrivals have been cancelled at the Paphos Airport and one departure and one arrival at the Larnaca Airport”, he said.
Mr. Aspris urged travelers to contact their airlines or tourist agents before arriving to the airports.
