A slight increase in the recording of coronavirus cases has been observed in Cyprus recently, but this is not at all alarming, the spokesman of the State Health Services Organisation (OKYpY), Charalambos Charilaou, has told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA).
"It's not alarming, we had a small increase, it was expected. No issue is raised. It is summer vacation, there is a crowd of people, the measures have been relaxed as in all countries, there is no issue of concern," Charilaou told CNA.
As regards admissions, around 30 patients are currently hospitalised, one person is hospitalised in a serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit and two others in the Enhanced Care Unit. The incidents mainly involve elderly people.
"These are mild incidents, we are not worried at all," Charilaou concluded.
