According to CYSTAT data released on Thursday, tourist revenues in September dropped by 2.3% to £138 million against £141 million in September 2004.

In January-September 2005, tourist revenues recorded an increase of 2.2% to £811.7 million against £794.5 million in the corresponding period of 2004. In the same period, tourist arrivals increased by 6.4%.

“We are aware of the fact that there is a problem with the tourist revenues and that the average expenditure per tourist must increase. The increase in tourist revenues will be achieved via the enforcement of the Strategic Plan for Tourism and the improvement of our tourist product”, CTO Chairman, Fotis Fotiou told StockWatch.
