The Cyprus hotel industry has entered a new era after the renewal of the union contract, which will allow the state and the social partners to proceed to the quality upgrading of the island’s tourist product, a SEK announcement reported on Wednesday. According to the announcement, tourism must be enriched with new golf courts, marinas and casinos, while other forms of tourist must be developed as well, such as conference and sports tourism, agrotourism and cultural tourism.

The trade union has therefore decided to contribute to the enforcement of this objective.

Meanwhile, the executive committee of the union expressed its concerns on the latest developments in Cyprus Airways, which affect the employees and the survival of the national air carrier.

The accumulated problems of the national carriers will be solved with the conduct of a complete dialogue among the parties.
