The Board of Directors of Bank of Cyprus decided yesterday to appoint Mr. Symeon Matsis as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors.
The appointment shall take effect upon the approval by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
Mr. Matsis has studied economics at the London School of Economics and Queen Mary College. He is a Business Consultant and a member of the Board of Directors of public companies. He has held the position of General Manager at the Planning Bureau of the Republic of Cyprus and at the Ministries of Agriculture, Defence, Health and Works and Transport. He has served as Chairman or member on the Board of Directors of various banking and other organisations, institutions and councils.
“The appointment of Mr. Matsis enhances the presence of independent non-executive members on the Board of Directors”, the announcement concluded.
