According to CYSTAT data released on Tuesday, the Russian tourists had the highest spending per capita in September 2006. Specifically, the Russian spending showed an increase of 26.2% to £580.22 against £459.77 in September 2005.
The second highest spending per capital is observed to the Belgian tourists, who spent £547.85 (+25.9%).
The average spending per capita of the British tourists recorded an increase of 7.1% to £528.65, while that of the Irish and the US citizens dropped. The total spending per capita in September surged 4.4% to £475.20 against £455.36 in 2005.

The attraction of quality tourism explains why tourist revenues recorded an increase of 2.2% to £140.9 million (against £137.9 million in September 2005), while the tourist arrivals dropped by 2,1%.
Similarly, the tourist revenues in January-September 2006 soared 3.2% to £838.1 million against £811.8 million in the corresponding period of 2005, despite a drop of 2.3% in tourist arrivals for the same period.
