Reservations for the Cyprus – Greece maritime connection since the line started operating have exceeded 10,000, Deputy Minister for Shipping Maria Hadjimanolis has said, during a meeting with Greek Ambassador to Cyprus Ioannis Papameletiou on Wednesday, June 14.

In a meeting with Papameletiou, Hadjimanolis praised the great interest for the maritime connection which has been reinstated last year for the first time after more than twenty years, supported by state subsidy.

According to a press release issued by the Deputy Ministry for Shipping, Hadjimanolis briefed the Greek diplomat that as of this year, the connection will include trips from the port of Larnaca as well due to increased demand and in a bid to better serve the public.

She also thanked Papamelemetiou for the “significant contribution” of Greece and all Greek state services, as the Piraeus Port Organisation to the project.

Furthermore, Hadjimanolis briefed Palameletiou that she will extend an invitation to the new Greek Shipping Minister after the elections in end-June to attend the 2023 Maritime Cyprus Conference to be held in 8-11 October 2023.
