Cypriot Deputy Minister for Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Philippos Hadjizacharias departs on Wednesday for Brussels to attend the EU Competitiveness Council (Research and Space) to be held on December 8.
According to a Deputy Ministry press release, EU Ministers are expected to adopt Council conclusions on the impact of research and innovation in policy making, a priority file for the Spanish presidency and they will be invited to reach a political agreement on a Council recommendation to create a European framework to attract and retain research, innovation, and entrepreneurial talents in Europe.
They will also hold a policy debate on the subject 'Research valorisation as a tool for economic and industrial recovery and resilience'. Following the recommendation on the guiding principles for knowledge valorisation, that was adopted during the Czech presidency, the press release adds.
With regard to the discussion on Space, the Ministers are expected to approve the Council Conclusions on ‘Space traffic management: state of play’ while they will exchange views on Future of EU policy on space in a changing world.
According to the press release at the margins of the Council Hadjizacharias will hold contacts with European counterparts.
The Deputy Minister returns to Cyprus on Saturday, 9 December.
