The Council of Ministers decided on Wednesday to reduce to 14 months the military service of the children that belong to families with many children, given that two children of the family have served a full military service.
This decision affects 70 families and is of immediate effect.
In his statements after the meeting, Government Spokesman, Vasilis Palmas stated that the decision was taken after a meeting between the Defense Minister, Christodoulos Pasiardis and the Pancyprian Organization of Families with many children.
“The Council of Ministers’ decision satisfies the demands of the families with many children. The Defense Ministry and the Council of Ministers believe that the demands were correct and justified”, Mr. Palmas concluded.
