The painful economic and austerity crisis from 2010-18 that brought three bailouts along with big pay cuts, tax hikes, slashed pensions and worker firings is still being paid for in Greece, but early in the case of the rescue loans.
Greece had earlier repaid one of its Troika of lenders, the Washington, D.C.-based International Monetary Fund (IMF) that put up 28 billion euros ($29.57 billion) of 326 billion euros ($344.23 billion) in bailouts to save a ravaged economy.
