Hackers targeted Greece’s Fourlis Group, disrupting operations at IKEA stores in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Romania, as well as Intersport stores, with a ransomware attack. The cyberattack, described as a “malicious external action,” was detected on November 27 and hit the central infrastructure of the group’s operations.
While the company did not disclose who was behind the attack or whether a ransom was demanded, the incident caused significant disruptions. In Greece, IKEA customers encountered blocked-off areas and limited cashier services, and online shopping was completely shut down. The attack came just days before Black Friday, dealing a blow to the company during a critical period for retail sales.
