The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce held a meeting whereby ways of cooperation were explored in order to take advantage of EU funding of 1,5 million euros. The EU proposes to make available more funds in 2003 depending on the progress achieved on the joint projects.
Various projects were examined for the development of Small-Medium Enterprises regarding joint projects such as information technology and training of personnel.
Parallel to the above, the government is looking into ways of bringing the two communities together in trade, one of which being the proposal put forward by the “Brussels Group” regarding the trade of animal and dairy products between the two communities.
