Industrial producer prices in Cyprus in April 2009 followed a downward trend due to the drop in the price of energy products.
According to Eurostat data released on Wednesday, industrial producer prices in Cyprus fell 0.2% compared to April 2008, while the decline in the euro area and EU27 stood at 4.6% and 3.9% respectively.
Among Member States for which data are available, the largest falls in the total index were observed in the Netherlands (-10.4%), Greece (-7.8%), Denmark and France (both -6.4%), and the only increases in Malta (+22.6%), Hungary and Romania (both +2.5%), Sweden (+1.0%) and Slovenia (+0.2%).
