President expected to resume his duties in 2-3 weeks

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades underwent surgery after fracturing his right hip during a fall on Saturday in Limassol.
In statements to the press after the surgery at the Mediterranean Hospital in Limassol Saturday afternoon, Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou said the operation was successful and the President is expected to resume his duties in about two to three weeks.
Surgeon Dr. Andreas Panagiotou, said the operation was performed without any complications and the President was in a good mood and back in his room. He will resume his duties in 2-3 weeks. For the next 48 hours, no visitors will be allowed.
Reports said the president had stumbled on steps outside a shop in Limassol, his hometown.
