President Nikos Christodoulides will travel to Vienna on Friday to attend a working dinner with a group of EU leaders in Vienna, organised by European Council President Charles Michel and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
In remarks on Thursday evening, on his arrival at the Cyprus Industrialists' Federation, the President said that on Friday he will participate in the working dinner organised by the President of the European Council and the Austrian Chancellor to discuss, primarily, the EU's strategic agenda.
"We have elections on 9 June, so the new EU strategy will have to be defined", he told reporters.
The President of the Republic said that "we have specific positions on all major EU issues within the framework of our effort to have a stronger voice and role in Brussels, on issues that concern either the strategic autonomy of the EU or the migration issue or the decision-making process".
According to the Government Spokesman, upon his arrival at the Chancellery, President Christodoulides will be received by the Austrian Chancellor and will take part in the dinner with the leaders of Austria, Denmark, Malta, Latvia, Slovakia and Slovenia and the President of the European Council.
