The adequacy of power supply is completely under control, despite the low temperatures during winter, Chairman of the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority, Giorgos Siammas stated.
On the question whether the increased demand for electricity due to the low temperatures during winter will cause problems to the power supply, Mr. Siammas said that the demand is increased but adequacy is completely under control.
“Demand is covered satisfactorily by the existing units via the proper planning and the maintenance in the previous two months”, he noted.
“Nothing is foreseen at the current stage. Only a big damage could lead to some problems”, he concluded.
