Cyprus Police reported 42 individuals and 6 shop owners for violation of protective measures to contain the spread of the Covid pandemic.
A Police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending at 6:00 local time Monday, police officers carried out a total of 3,141 checks across the government-controlled areas.
Most fines were issued to individuals not wearing protective masks in public spaces and establishments.
In Nicosia, the Police carried out 1,117 checks reporting 10 individuals and one premise owner, in Limassol 309 checks were carried out with 20 individuals and 2 shop owner reported, in Larnaca 4 individuals and 2 shop owners were reported following 454 checks, in Pafos 2 individuals and 1 shop owner were reported after 354 checks, in Famagusta 439 checks were carried out with 6 individuals reported, while 165 checks were made in Morphou with no fines issued.
No reports were issued after checks of the Traffic Department and the Marine and Port Police.
