Cyprus Police fined 16 individuals and 7 establishment owners or managers for violating protective measures aiming to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A police spokesperson told CNA that in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time Monday, the Force carried out a total of 2,395 checks throughout the government-controlled areas.
In Nicosia, the Police carried out 787 checks reporting 7 persons and 5 establishment owners, in Limassol 234 checks were carried out with 4 persons and 2 establishment owners fined, in Larnaca 540 checks were carried out reporting one individual, no checks were carried out in Pafos, in Famagusta 4 persons were fined following 399 checks, while in the Morphou no one was reported following 239 checks.
No reports were issued following 178 checks by the Traffic Departments and 18 checks by the Port and Marine Police.
