Τotal sales of petroleum products recorded a decrease of 4.7% in November 2024 compared to the same month last year, according to Cyprus’ Statistical Service (Cystat). Kerosene sales saw a 35.1% increase while sales from petrol stations have also increased.
According to Cystat’s latest statistics on imports, sales and stocks of petroleum products for November 2024, the total sales of petroleum products amounted to 113,640 tonnes, recording a decrease of 4.7% compared to November 2023.
“A decrease was observed in the provisions of marine gasoil (-13.9%) and aviation kerosene (-8.1%), as well as in the sales of light and heavy fuel oil (-23.9% and -6.3%, respectively), asphalt (-7.0%) and road diesel (-5.7%)”, it said. On the contrary, it adds, an increase was recorded in the sales of kerosene (35.1%), heating gasoil (18.6%), liquefied petroleum gases (13.7%) and motor gasoline (0.1%).
It also said that petrol stations sales have increased by 4.1% to 58,587 tonnes.
Total sales of petroleum products in November 2024, compared to October 2024 recorded a drop of 16.0%. Indicatively, a drop was recorded in the provisions of aviation kerosene (-50.1%) and in the sales of road diesel (-10.2%) and motor gasoline (-8.8%), it adds, noting that the total stocks of petroleum products at the end of November 2024 decreased by 3.7% compared to the end of the previous month.
During the period January-November 2024, total sales of petroleum products increased by 0.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, Cystat said.
