PASIDIXE (Pancyprian Association of Hotel Managers) requested by the government on Wednesday to adopt the measures that have been announced for the support of the island’s tourism.

According to the announcement, PASIDIXE supports the efforts for the reversal or restriction of the side-effects of the “desperate” course of tourist economy. “We request the immediate enforcement of the measures. Then, we will contribute to their effective adoption”, it stressed.

The Association believes that the effort must be based on:

a) The reversal of the climate and psychology in the industry

b) The immediate adoption of the measures announced

c) The enforcement of the enrichment projects and incentives for the withdrawal or improvement of the industry.

“We also urge the trade unions to show their understanding to the serious problems that the industry faces and to stay away from inopportune claims. Our aim is to avoid the further shrinkage of jobs”, the announcement concluded.
