UN Secretary General Kofi Annan meets in Paris on Friday with Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides and Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash in search for ways to push forward the UN-led Cyprus talks going on for the past eight months.
According to the CAN correspondent, prior to the joint meeting, Annan will meet Denktash and Clerides separately, at 1000 local time and at 1130 local time, respectively. Annan's lunch for the two leaders will be given at 1300 hours.
Earlier in the morning President Clerides will meet with his aides, namely Attorney General Alecos Markides, Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou, Undersecretary to the President Pantelis Kouros and Cyprus' Ambassador in Paris Minas Hadjimichael.
Clerides' meeting with Annan will take place in the presence of the UN Secretary General's Special Advisor on Cyprus Alvaro De Soto and his assistant Robert Dann. Clerides' will be accompanied by Kouros.
All meetings and the lunch will take place at Bristol Hotel, where the UN chief is staying.
The lunch hosted by Annan for Clerides and Denktash will also be attended by De Soto, who met last evening with Annan.
De Soto's assistant, Swiss constitutional expert Didier Psirter, was scheduled to arrive yesterday in Paris.
