The achievement of an agreement with the STRABAG-Nemesis joint venture for the promotion of the construction of the Paphos-Polis Chrysohous road within the framework of the current procedure seems to be very difficult, the Communications Ministry stressed in a letter sent to the Parliament.
Although negotiations with the joint venture continue – it is the second bidder – the management committee has not accepted the issues raised by the joint venture, which have to do with the economic aspect of the project mostly.
“It seems that the reaching of an agreement and the promotion of the project within the framework of the current procedure is very difficult”, he stressed.
According to Communications and Works Minister, Efthimios Flourentzos, the management committee will take its final decision for the further promotion of the project in the month.
In his letter, the Minister emphasized that the government’s political will to implement the project is granted.
The issue was brought up after a question raised by AKEL MP, Irene Charalambidou.
