The oil companies intend to increase the price of fuel in the next few days due to the upward trend in the price of crude oil worldwide. The price of unleaded 95 and 97 is expected to increase by 1.5 - 2 cents per litre, while diesel and heating oil is expected to show a similar increase.

According to Petrolina executive director, Ntinos Lefkaritis, if the loads to be received in the next few days are expensive, prices will rise. In his statements to CyBC news last night, Mr. Lefkaritis said that the increase in the price of crude oil is higher than the increase that the Cypriot consumer will be imposed. “The dollar’s decline favoured the Cypriot market”, he said.

The crude hit a new record high, reaching $93.20 dollars in the New York market.
