The Central Board of Directors of OELMEK denounced “the refusal of the Ministry of Education and Culture to give the number of poor pupils of each school” to the organization, so that in turn gives the money from the cut of €10 from each teacher.
According to the announcement, the Board decided to cut €10 and has concentrated the amount of €60,000, which will be distributed to schools according to the number of poor pupils.
“Despite our repeated attempts, the Ministry of Education and Culture refuses to give us the figures, at the same time that the number of poor children in schools is growing day by day and have an immediate need for help”, it added.
Finally, it is stated that due to the negative attitude of the Ministry, the Board authorized the Secretary of OELMEK to find other ways to allocate the money to needy children as soon as possible.
