The latest statistics on the tourist revenues in October 2005 have boosted optimism for the course of the Cyprus tourist industry.
According to CYSTAT data released on Monday, tourist revenues in October recorded an increase of 4% to £120.5 million against £115.9 million in the corresponding month of 2004. The variation of tourist arrivals stood at 4.8%.
In January-October 2005, tourist revenues showed an increase of 2.4% to £932.2 million against £910.4 million in 2004. The gap between the tourist arrivals and revenues is still wide since tourist arrivals for the period increased by 6.4%.
