Noble Energy will go on with two new research drillings in plot 12 of the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus to indentify the spot that natural gas extraction can be conducted.
Noble Energy Director in Cyprus, John Tomic stated that the new drillings will show the full three-dimensional evaluations of the plot and reiterated the announcement of December 27 on significant natural gas discoveries.
“One of the goals is the commercial exploitation of the deposits and that there are plans for a pipeline that will possibly lead to Vassiliko”, he said.
The Noble official was speaking in the sidelines of the Economist Summit in Athens “Greece, Cyprus, Israel: Re-designing the European energy map”.
Meanwhile, Professor, Panos Papanastasiou, member of the hydrocarbon experts’ group, speaking to the summit, stressed that the sector of gas will grow faster than oil on a global basis in the next few years.
