Nicosia ranks first for human capital and lifestyle and eighth for FDI (Foreign Direct Investments) strategy, among small European Cities of the future, according to the fDi Intelligence of the Financial Times.

The capital of Cyprus has been ranked among the top ten small European Cities of the Future for the fifth consecutive time.

"Nicosia's high ranking comes as a reward and recognition of the city's efforts towards becoming a modern city that hosts the majority of the academic Institutions for higher education in Cyprus, modern hospitals and clinics, innovation and research institutions and centres, as well as local and foreign companies that enhance the multicultural identity of Nicosia as a business center", Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) said in a press release.

The fact that Nicosia has been ranked for the first time among the ten small European cities for FDI strategy, reaffirms the city's potential in the business sector, according to the NCCI.
