Negotiations for the renewal of the union contracts in the semi governmental organizations reached a deadlock, Labour Minister, Christos Taliadoros announced on Monday, after the end of the meeting with the SEK and PEO General Secretaries, Demetris Kittenis and Pambis Kyritsis.

The trade unions rejected the Labour Ministry’s proposal for the allocation of pay rises of 3% on condition that working hours will change, the retirement limit will expand and the newcomers will be subject to a new pension plan.

The trade unions leaders criticized strongly the Labour Ministry and said that the options for the claim of their demands are few.

It is noted that the semi-governmental employees will go on a strike on January 10. SEK will go on an indefinite strike and PEO on a 24-hour strike.
