The Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed its concerns on Tuesday for the failure of House Finance Committee yesterday to release the necessary funds for the construction of the Cultural Foundation.
In its announcement, the Chamber expressed its opposition to the “efforts by certain people to cancel the project and to absorb the funds since it will be fully covered by the EU structural funds”.
The Chamber reiterated that the Cultural Foundation is a project of great of economic growth that will improve the life of Nicosia and will change the cultural data of the country.
“The timing for the construction of the Foundation will be the lever of economic growth, while constructions will involve approximately 1500 people of all specialties, which will have a catalytic effect on reducing unemployment”, it stressed.
It is necessary the members of the Cypriot Parliament to make decisions for the common good, the NCCI said and expressed its certainty that the plenary of the House of Representatives will see the uniqueness and importance of the project, which will improve our country culturally and will align it with the rest of Europe.
